October 2014 Members’ Exclusive
It’s time for another round of members’ content! I’m really excited about this month’s tips. I’m going to show you how to keep building your network, some techniques for starting the relationship with a new connection, and point you to another expert in online selling that you should know. Let’s get started!
1. Viewers of this profile also viewed (3:22 video)
In the course, you learned how to search for people with specific job titles or in specific departments of specific companies. LinkedIn allows you to find more people from these search results, and will show you even more information about them than you could otherwise find!
2. 3rd degree Google workaround (3:58 video)
Normally, you can’t view much information about 3rd degree connections, nor can you send them connection requests. In this video, I’ll show you a way to use Google searches to work around this limitation.
3. Thank you note to connection (3:36 video)
LinkedIn isn’t a one-way tool. When others request to connect with you–especially if they are a prospect–you should follow up the invitation with a thank you note. That way, you can start to develop the business relationship.
4. Liking, commenting or sharing a prospects’ updates (3:49 video)
Once you have connected with a prospect, you still need a way to get their interest enough to set up a meeting. By liking, commenting, or sharing their updates, you can use LinkedIn to get their attention and hopefully nurture the relationship.
5. Jill Konrath (2:11 video)
In this video, I want to introduce you to a phenomenal sales expert and speaker, Jill Konrath. She has three books, all of which I own and enjoy, and her website has a ton of great content (including some material on LinkedIn sales strategies in particular). I would strongly encourage you to check out her resources.
As always, good luck and happy selling on LinkedIn!
